The intention is that it should be used as a common agreement for interchange of Electronic data in the Nordic power market.

The agreement consists of two documents, the agreement, and a technical annex. The technincal annex has a common form adjusted to each communication partner.

Eltra (Energinet.dk) has been using the interchange agreement since early 1999, it has been tested and implemented in Jutland. The Interchange Agreement is now ready for use.
The system operators in each country will be responsible for the implementation of the agreement in their country. The system operators will also be responsible for maintainig communication data for the parties in their area.

An agreement signed with the system operator will automatically be valid for all electronic data exchange with other partners.
